Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin · PC mod

Seamless Co-op for Dark Souls 2

Play the whole game with a friend. Their sign places itself and your game summons it — from anywhere, even Majula — and the co-op doesn't fall apart after a boss, a death or a new area.

  • Free and open source (MIT)
  • Steam version, Windows 10/11
  • Your own server: no invasions, no strangers
The co-op menu in the game: you are in the host's world, two players in the lobby
Notifications: Seamless Co-op is ready, a player joined the lobby, the host will summon you now

What changes

One summon for the whole game

Summon without the ritual, from anywhere

Join from the in-game menu and that's it: the sign appears right under the host's feet and the host's game summons it by itself. No effigies, no soapstone hunting, no phantom timer — and it works where signs normally can't be placed.

  1. The session doesn't end

Boss kills, deaths, bonfires and area changes don't send the guest home.

  2. No co-op fog walls

The guest walks the host's whole world, including areas where summoning is normally blocked.

  3. Bonfires for both

The guest rests at the host's bonfires, and resting brings the enemies back for both players.

  4. Fair loot

What the guest picks up in the host's world is theirs only, and it's gone from their own world afterwards — nothing is looted twice.

  5. Death isn't the end

A guest who dies comes straight back to the host's world. The host dying doesn't kick anyone.

  6. Bosses together

The host walks into the boss fog first and the guest follows; nobody comes back until the fight is decided.

Also: the guest can talk to NPCs; an in-game menu on F1 in English and Russian with a password-protected lobby; rejoining after a crash; a crash log for bug reports; and a one-click server for the host.

Status

An early version, honestly

So far it has been played by two people. Known issues and plans are in the README; bugs go to issues with the log attached.

This is an independent fan project. It is not LukeYui's Seamless Co-op (that one is still in development), and it is not affiliated with FromSoftware or Bandai Namco.
